
The Blytheville Chickasaws (5-0, 15-3) on Jan. 10 were overpowering at Batesville in their 4A 3 Conference meeting, winning 60-39. The Lady Chickasaws (0-5, 0-9) also lost to the Lady Pioneers 67-32 earlier in the evening.

The Blytheville High School ninth grade Junior Chickasaws (2-3, 5-7) on Jan. 10 controlled the Batesville Junior Pioneers 48-34 in 4A 3 Conference action at Batesville, and the ninth grade Junior Lady Chickasaws (0-5, 3-9) were defeated by the Junior Lady Pioneers 38-14.

The Blytheville Chickasaws (4-0, 14-3) on Jan. 7 remained perfect in the 4A 3 Conference by throttling Valley View 61-45 at the BHS Gym.

The Blytheville High School ninth grade Junior Chickasaws (1-3, 4-7) on Jan. 7 came very close at the BHS Gym before losing to Valley View 43-38 in 4A 3 Conference action, and the Blytheville Middle School 7th grade Junior Chickasaws (6-6) lost to the Junior Blazers 39-35.

The Blytheville Lady Chickasaws (0-4, 0-8) on Jan. 6 came up short at the BHS Gym against Valley View, losing to the Lady Blazers 65-32 in the 4A 3 Conference.

The Blytheville High School ninth grade Junior Lady Chickasaws (0-4, 3-8) on Jan. 6 began the second half of their season by losing to Valley View 40-22 in 4A 3 Conference action at the BHS Gym, and the seventh grade Junior Lady Chickasaws (2-1) were defeated 17-7.

The Blytheville Chickasaws (3-0, 13-2) on New Year’s Eve polished off Manila 46-37 to earn another Northeast Arkansas Tournament championship at Jonesboro.

The Blytheville Chickasaws (3-0, 12-2) on Dec. 30 outlasted Brookland 37-35 in the NEA Tournament semifinals at Jonesboro, and will play the Manila-Rivercrest survivor Dec. 31 in the NEA championship at 7:30 p.m.

The Blytheville Chickasaws (3-0, 11-2) on Dec. 27 thwarted Trumann 74-56 in the first round of the NEA Tournament at Jonesboro. The Chickasaws next play Dec. 30 in the second round against Brookland at 6 p.m.

The Blytheville Chickasaws (3-0, 10-2) on Dec. 20 had no problems at Highland, defeating the Rebels 60-36 in the 4A 3 Conference. The Lady Chickasaws (0-3, 0-7) were defeated by the Lady Rebels 53-35.

The Blytheville High School ninth grade Junior Chickasaws (1-2, 4-6) on Dec. 20 corralled Highland 51-26 at Hardy, and the ninth grade Junior Lady Chickasaws (0-3, 3-7) were defeated by the Junior Lady Rebels 47-23.

The Blytheville Lady Chickasaws (0-2, 0-6) on Dec. 17 were defeated in the 4A 3 Conference by Pocahontas 59-37 at the BHS Gym, and the ninth grade Junior Lady Chickasaws (0-2, 3-6) lost to the Junior Lady Redskins 31-12 in the first game of the night.

Blytheville Board of Education member Erin Carrington on Dec. 16 was recognized by Supt. Bobby Ashley and the other board members for achieving Master Board Member status. Carrington completed more than 50 hours of developmental training as a board member to earn the recognition.


The Blytheville Chickasaws (2-0, 9-2) on Dec. 16 beat up Pocahontas 58-33 in 4A 3 Conference action at the BHS Gym, and the ninth grade Junior Chickasaws (0-2, 3-6) were defeated by the Junior Redskins 33-28.

The Blytheville Chickasaws (1-0, 8-2) on Dec. 14 took care of Mount Vernon 68-53 in the consolation game of the “Harvest Hoopfest” at Rogers.

The Blytheville Middle School eighth grade Junior Chickasaws (5-2) lost two games Dec. 14 at Valley View, The Junior Chickasaws were edged by Nettleton 30-28 in their first game and later lost to Jonesboro Annie Camp 35-33.

The Blytheville Chickasaws (1-0, 7-2) on Dec. 13 lost to Rogers 53-45 in overtime in the semifinals of the “Harvest Hoopfest” in Rogers.

The Blytheville High School ninth grade Junior Chickasaws (0-1, 3-5) on Dec. 12 totally controlled Cross County 51-23 in nonconference action at Cherry Valley.

The Blytheville High School ninth grade Junior Lady Chickasaws (0-1, 3-5) on Dec. 12 were victorious at Cross County 37-30 in nonconference activity, and the Blytheville Middle School seventh grade Junior Chickasaws (6-5) crushed Cross County 45-10.

The Blytheville Chickasaws (1-0, 7-1) on Dec. 12 crushed Fort Smith Southside 63-27 in the first round of the Rogers “Harvest” Tournament at Rogers. The Chickasaws move on to play host Rogers in the second round Friday at 8:30 p.m.
