Statement regarding COVID-19 (Coronavirus)  Blytheville Public Schools is concerned about the spread of communicable disease.  Of particular concern is a form of the Coronavirus known as COVID-19. As many of you are aware, COVID-19 has been diagnosed in multiple locations throughout the United States.  At present, there are no known cases of COVID-19 within Mississippi County.   The CDC Emergency Operations Center is preparing specific guidance for schools that will be released shortly and will be shared on our website as soon as they become available. Blytheville Public Schools has a Pandemic Response Plan in place that would be followed in the event of any medical emergencies. Blytheville Public Schools encourages the following practices to reduce the risk of spreading viral respiratory infections, including the flu, the common cold, and may help reduce the spread of COVID-19: Students and faculty should stay home when they are sick. Frequent hand washing with soap and water. If soap and water are not readily available, using an alcohol-based hand sanitizer with at least 60% alcohol. Avoid touching eyes, nose, and mouth with unwashed hands. Cover your mouth when coughing or sneezing. Students and staff are encouraged to get a flu shot during the flu season. Providing adequate supplies for good hygiene (soap, water, paper towels, hand sanitizer, etc).   In addition to these measures, our District also implements the following practices:   Daily cleaning and disinfection of facilities. Registered nurses at every campus to assist students and or faculty who are not feeling well.
